FreshBooks is probably better for you if…
- You do your bookkeeping in the same tool: expenses, bank feeds, reports
- You need live online payments and accounting records today
- Your accountant works inside FreshBooks with you
- Invoicing depth matters more than the work around the invoice
FreelancerFlow may fit better if…
- You mainly need invoices — plus contracts and booking, which FreshBooks doesn't bundle
- You're paying FreshBooks plus Calendly just to run client work
- Your bookkeeping already lives elsewhere (or with an accountant)
- You'd rather pay one flat $19/month, everything included, no add-ons
Questions
Is FreelancerFlow a full FreshBooks alternative?+
Only for part of what FreshBooks does. If your main job is sending good-looking invoices and keeping your client work in one place, FreelancerFlow covers that — and adds proposals, contracts and a booking page that FreshBooks doesn't focus on. If you use FreshBooks for bookkeeping — expense tracking, bank reconciliation, financial reports — it is an accounting product and FreelancerFlow is not (yet). We'd rather tell you that here than after you've switched.
What does the real FreshBooks stack cost?+
FreshBooks Plus is $43/month at its published price, checked October 2026. Most freelancers pair it with a separate booking tool such as Calendly Standard ($10/month) because FreshBooks has no booking page — so the working stack is often $53/month or more, across two logins. FreelancerFlow is one flat $19/month for the five client-work jobs in one app.
Can I actually use FreelancerFlow today?+
You can explore the entire app today: the preview on this site is fully clickable and runs with sample data in your browser, free. Live accounts with real data and payments open to founding members once the preview has been reviewed and approved — no promised sign-up date, just the product to look at.
What does FreshBooks do that FreelancerFlow doesn't (yet)?+
Real accounting: expense and receipt tracking, connected bank accounts and reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping on its accounting plans, financial reports, mileage tracking, and a mature mobile app and integrations list. If those are how you run your books, FreshBooks earns its price. FreelancerFlow's claim is narrower: the client-work flow, flat-priced.
Where do these prices come from?+
FreshBooks Plus ($43/month) and Calendly Standard ($10/month) are their published plan prices, checked in October 2026. Note FreshBooks has adjusted its plan pricing during 2025–2026 — verify the latest on the official sites before deciding.
