Bonsai is probably better for you if…
- You need expense tracking or tax-prep features built in
- You need live payments and integrations today, not a preview
- Your whole team works in the tool and per-user pricing is fine
- You want a product with years of production history
FreelancerFlow may fit better if…
- You're solo and your week is proposals → contracts → booking → time → invoices
- Per-user pricing annoys you: one extra seat shouldn't double the bill
- You currently pay for Bonsai plus a separate booking tool
- You'd trade extra features for one flat $19/month, everything included
Questions
Is FreelancerFlow a full Bonsai alternative?+
For a solo freelancer whose week is proposals, contracts, invoices, booking calls and tracking time — that is exactly the ground FreelancerFlow covers, for one flat $19/month instead of $25 per user/month. If you rely on Bonsai's expense tracking, tax preparation or its wider integrations today, Bonsai remains the more complete product for now, and this page says so plainly.
Why compare per-user pricing?+
Bonsai Essentials is priced at $25 per user per month. That is fair if every seat uses it fully — but a freelancer who brings on one collaborator or assistant doubles the bill. FreelancerFlow has a single flat price with no per-user maths, which is the main reason it exists.
Can I actually use FreelancerFlow today?+
You can explore the entire app today: the preview on this site is fully clickable and runs with sample data in your browser, free. Live accounts with real data and payments open to founding members once the preview has been reviewed and approved — we would rather show you the product honestly than promise a sign-up date we can't keep.
What does Bonsai do that FreelancerFlow doesn't (yet)?+
Several things: expense tracking and tax-oriented features, online payments, a long list of integrations, native mobile apps, and years of production use by a large customer base. FreelancerFlow deliberately does five jobs; Bonsai does more. The question is whether the extra jobs are the ones you use.
Where do these prices come from?+
Bonsai's Essentials plan price ($25/user/month) is its published plan price, checked in October 2026. Plans and prices change — verify the latest on Bonsai's official site before deciding.
Don't take our word for any of this
